Kazu: Is there another way out?

Panel 2: The table in the back right corner of the teahouse, now abandoned. We can now see that there is a smaller shoji door to the right of it.

Waitress (off-panel): Yes. Through the kitchen.

Panel 3: Meanwhile, Resunotek pushes open the front door, letting in a swirl of snow from the gray evening outside. Ichiro stands in front of it, sword at the ready again, this time with a smear of blood on the blade (rendered in red). The Takazaki samurai lies in the foreground in a pool of blood.

Panel 4: The first Takazaki and Atagi samurai clash blades. The Atagi is already on the back foot, his face showing fear. The Takazaki looks eager as he presses his attack.

Panel 5: The grim-faced Takazaki seizes another Atagi by the shoulder, his blade coming in from the right of the panel to stab him in the back. The Atagi grimaces and reaches for his attacker’s face.

Panel 6: Another Takazaki stalks after Kazu, the waitress, and another commoner, a youngish man. His back takes up most of the panel, his blade at the ready. The waitress and the man glance back at him fearfully; Kazu appears to be encouraging the waitress to keep moving.

Panel 7: Now from the front, Tanki reenters the scene from the bottom right of the panel, springing up with a vicious uppercut to the Takazaki samurai’s chin. The samurai’s head snaps back, and he drops his sword, which has fallen out of sight. A burst of action lines surround the place where Tanki’s fist connects.
