Nobody panic! We have two protagonists actually having a conversation!

I may have forgotten Ichiro’s scars in the last panel. My policy is that once I hit “export” (to turn the Photoshop document into a JPG), I don’t go back and make changes. All those edits are for when the first draft is done.

Hi, I’m back.

Sorry for the schedule disruption! I got my antibiotics and feel much better.

Ichiro is awake and still very depressed, as the thumbnail above would suggest, so be ready for that when you find the page below:

Time for Ichiro to wake up and get the plot moving.

I liked this page up until Panel 4, which utterly defeated me. I know it looks bad. His arms don’t make any sense. His head is simultaneously too big and too small. Unfortunately, what it would take to fix it will take more time than I have, so here it is. Please don’t make fun of me too badly.

Resunotek has found something in the woods.

A little blood on this page, but honestly not too bad, considering what we’ve already dealt with.

Just this page for this week, because Friday is May Day and there are a number of strikes occurring, so this is my small way of showing solidarity. I’ll have a new one up for you next Tuesday.

Also, I’ll be at What the Hex on Sunday! 11-5 at Dresden Castle on Underwood, Cudahy, WI. Come say hi!

Some blood and violence on this page. I seem to introduce groups of men only to kill them all off shortly after.

Our heroine is in Peril again.

I managed to cut two entire panels out of this page, mostly because my outline has the bandit leader drawing his sword like three or four times? He doesn’t even have a scabbard. I don’t know what I was thinking. (Probably not much, because I’m pretty sure I was working on this bit either shortly before or after giving birth.)

Also, don’t forget about the Kenosha Book Festival this weekend! 10-3 at 5031 7th Ave, Kenosha, WI. See you there!

Warning for said peril, though it is short-lived, and some more blood.

Ya boy is back, and he’s doing…not great, but he’s still kicking.

Thanks for your patience during the brief hiatus. I should be back on time on Friday as well.

Just some blood on this page. Find the whole thing below:

Last Watch Before Dawn resumes next week

Managed to get one (1) panel (of seven) done today, so I’ll finish up this page over the weekend and post it on Tuesday. We should be back on our regular Tuesday/Friday schedule after that, possibly with one disruption for May Day solidarity? Thanks so much for your patience.

I know, I really should have more of a backlog, and it’s really not recommended to go into a serialized project like a webcomic without most of it done already. I have already written three books by staying minutes ahead of my posting schedule, so don’t worry, there’s no reason to believe that I’ll leave the comic unfinished.

See you again soon!

We’re still in the mistlands for a bit, so have some uncanny flora and fauna!

Because all my readers are unusually smart and perceptive, I’m taking the approach of not using text to explain pretty much any of the worldbuilding. I think the journey of discovery will be a fun challenge for all of us.
