Song of the Week

Paris Paloma, “Miyazaki”

Good morning! The world is cursed, but the sun is shining, and we’re still here.

New pages of Last Watch Before Dawn this week, as per usual.

Mark your calendars for the Kenosha Book Festival on April 26! I’ll be there, and so will some more fantastic local and indie authors, from 10 until 3 in the parking lot outside Studio Moonfall, 5031 7th Ave, Kenosha, WI. From 11 until 1, there will be storytime for kids with Belle from Beauty and the Beast. There will also be a food truck, but I don’t know what it is off the top of my head. I’ll post more about it as we get closer to the date.

After that, I’ll be doing another What the Hex on May 3, and another Spooky Frog Horror Book Fair on May 16.

A couple of petitions:

Via Demand Progress: No war on Cuba

Via Just Foreign Policy: Block support for the invasion of Lebanon

Via Nextgen America: No war with Iran

I think that’s all for today. Take care, and stop by again soon.

Shawn James, “Burn the Witch”

Some disturbing imagery in the video, just so you know.

Hi. It’s Monday again.

If you’re in Wisconsin, please turn out tomorrow for the Supreme Court election! myvote.wi.gov has all the information you need about your registration, polling place, and ballot.

The new chapter of Last Watch Before Dawn began last week, so we’ll be continuing with that this week. I usually draw when my baby naps–on my chest, which is good for her getting a nice long nap in, but not great for my posture. I’m teaching her to nap on her own this week, so I hope you’ll be patient if comic pages are a little delayed. Right now she’s sleeping soundly, so we’re off to a good start.

At the end of the month, I’ll be going to the Kenosha Book Festival again! Sunday, April 26, from 10 until 3, at the parking lot outside of Studio Moonfall, 5031 7th Ave., Kenosha, WI. See you there!

Some petitions for today:

Via Civic Shout: Pass a federal ban on conversion therapy

Via Demand Progress: Block 20,000 bombs

Via Win Without War: No more money for war

A note: I always try to remove UTM tracking tags from any links I post. If I’ve missed some, please let me know. I think we don’t need to be tracked everywhere we go online.

That’s all for now. Stop by again soon! And don’t forget to vote!

C.W. Stoneking, “The Love Me or Die”

Good morning!

The newsletter is going out tomorrow. Brooke has a new pack of cards for you, and I’m going to an event in April, and there will be cat pictures in there also. If that’s something that interests you, put your email in the box at this link, then check your inbox for a confirmation.

We’ve concluded the third chapter of this volume of Last Watch Before Dawn! There will be two more. Bonus art will go up tomorrow, and then we’ll start the next chapter on Friday. Now’s a good time to get caught up if you’ve been waiting. Here’s the table of contents.

A couple of petitions:

Via Win Without War: Block the sale of bombs and bulldozers to the Israeli government

Via Just Foreign Policy: No troops in Iran, no on the draft

That’s all for now. I love you; stay safe and stop by again soon.

Llunr, “When the Walls Come Down”

Good morning! When I woke up, it was snowing sideways. Now it’s snowing sort of diagonally.

I’m ordering inventory today for the markets coming up! Otherwise, I’ll be working on Last Watch Before Dawn. We have four more pages of our protagonist suffering before we finish this chapter and things start looking up.

Wisconsin folks: make sure you vote April 7! I will continue reminding you.

Some petitions for today:

Via National Campaign for Justice: Investigate the Minab school strike and Stop ICE from arresting and deporting children

Via Public School Strong: Protect students protesting ICE

Thanks for being here. Stay warm and safe this week.

Song of the Week

Parker Millsap, “Hades Pleads”

Good morning! If you’re reading this, I’m happy to see you.

After Friday’s eight-panel page, I’ve somehow given myself a seven-panel page to finish by tomorrow, so that’s what I’ll be working on. I’m hoping to get outside sometime today also.

So, a couple new comic pages this week, and not much else. It looks like I’m going to start heading out to markets again in May!

Some petitions I’ve gathered:

Via Demand Progress: Stop war on Iran

Via National Campaign for Justice: No ICE at the polls

Via Just Foreign Policy: Block the $50B bombs bill

That’s what I’ve got for today. Take care and have an excellent week.

Haunted Like Human, “Growing Pains”

Hi. It’s Monday again.

I did manage to get the newsletter out yesterday, and everything seems to have worked properly. Thanks for your patience!

Not much else to report for this week. I’m working on some new pages of Last Watch Before Dawn, and they’ll be up Tuesday and Friday, as per usual.

Devon Gilfillian, “Troublemaker”

Good morning!

I have another event for this year’s calendar: Slay the Lake’s Pride Market! Saturday, June 27, at Soundgrowler Brewing Co. in Tinley Park, IL. I’m also on the waitlist for their Kenosha event this spring, but in any case, I’m looking forward to it.

The newsletter will be going out on Saturday, so if that’s something you’re interested in and you haven’t signed up yet, here’s the signup link again. Be sure to check your inbox for a confirmation when you’re done.

Other than that, I’ll have new pages of Last Watch Before Dawn for you tomorrow and Friday. This chapter is long and depressing, but we’re moving through it, and then things will start looking up! Sometimes you have to make your characters miserable.

A couple of petitions for today:

Via the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights: Block the bombs, again

Via Demand Progress: Block ICE’s warehouse prison expansion

Via The Workers Circle: Protect Haitian Temporary Protected Status

That’s what I’ve got for you. Thanks for being here.

It looks like the first event on my calendar is the Kenosha Book Festival on April 26. I’ll have more information as we get closer!

I also have a couple of petitions for today:

Via the Native Organizers Alliance: Protect gender-affirming care

Via the National Campaign for Justice: Keep ICE out of schools

Via Just Foreign Policy: End the fuel blockade on Cuba

As always, I appreciate you being here. Take care this week, and stop by again soon.

It’s Monday again. Hi.

Not much to report for this week; I’ll have new pages of Last Watch Before Dawn on Tuesday and Friday, so be sure to stop by again.

Hello again!

So, I attended an ICE observer training call with the ACLU the other day. I typed up my notes and put them in the newsletter, and I’ll put them up here later this week when I have time, in case that’s something that might be useful to you. They’re having another call on February 5 as well.

In other news, I’ve got new pages of Last Watch Before Dawn for you, and they’ll be up on Tuesday and Friday. I’m enjoying this break from markets and things, especially now that it’s winter, but I’ll be getting back on the road soon! I’ll let you know.
