A seven-panel, black-and-white comic page.
Panel 1: The first Takazaki samurai, continuing to smirk with his sword still extended, addresses his companions. The stern-faced man to his right and the overeager man to his left draw their swords.
Takazaki samurai 1: Secure the doors. No one leaves.
Panel 2: The overeager Takazaki samurai stalks his way across the teahouse, both hands on his sword. In the background, the waitress sits among shards of ceramic and a puddle of spilled tea, evidently having been knocked over.
Panel 3: Kazu strums the shamisen. A ripple of some kind of magic effect emanates from the place he struck the strings. He looks off to his left (the right of the panel). Three musical notes hang in the air in front of him.
Kazu: Everyone calm down.
Panel 4: The Takazaki samurai stops and stands still, lowering his sword. His eyes roll up, and his face goes slack. The same ripple effect is superimposed over him.
Panel 5: A closer shot of Kazu, playing a different note. It’s a wrong note, and the musical note hanging in the air is wobbly. His face shows surprise and frustration.
Panel 6: The Takazaki samurai puts a hand to his head and winces as the effect breaks. Broken lines surround him.
Panel 7: Kazu sighs, closing his eyes. He’s lowered the shamisen out of frame.
Kazu: Damn. I’m out of practice.
