An eight-panel, black-and-white comic page.

Panel 1: Three Takazaki samurai stand shoulder to shoulder. The first among them, still smirking, speaks. The man to his left is taller and stone-faced; the one to his right glances to the side with suspicion.

Takazaki samurai 1: A rumor you’re spreading, against the direct order of the daimyō.
In his wisdom, he has decreed: there are no demons on Fuyushima.

Panel 2: The Atagi samurai looks up in dawning horror, his pupils contracted.

Takazaki samurai 1 (off-panel): Repeating such lies will frighten the common folk and foment discord on our harmonious isle, wouldn’t you agree?

Panel 3: The Takazaki samurai draws his sword and holds it out to indicate the room.

Takazaki samurai 1: In fact, by allowing this to continue unchallenged, all of you present are complicit in this rebellion against our lord.

Panel 4: Ichiro and Resunotek, standing by the front door. Ichiro looks straight ahead, his face grim. Resunotek looks at him, innocently clueless.

Ichiro: We have to go.

Panel 5: The Atagi samurai get to their feet, and we see three of them reaching for their swords. In the foreground, a cup has been upset, spilling liquid on the low table.

Atagi samurai 1: How dare you.

Panel 6: Kazu, the monk with the shamisen, turns to look at the impending fight. He looks blandly surprised.

Kazu: Oh, dear.

Panel 7: Kazu turns back to the table, takes the shamisen from his shoulder, and begins to tune it. He has one hand around one of the tuning pegs; his other hand and the body of the shamisen are out of frame. Two musical notes in the air indicate the sound.

Panel 8: Tanki, sitting across from him, looks at him with utter confusion. Tanki’s fists are clenched, and his posture is tense.
