Panel 3: The five samurai from the back right table (these are the Takazaki) have approached the other samurai at the left table (the Atagi), three of whom are visible, turning to look at the others. The Takazaki stand casually, but two have a hand on their swords.
Takazaki samurai 1: Evening, gentlemen.
Panel 4: The Atagi samurai who was telling the story of the ruined estate looks up defiantly, as does the man with heavy eyebrows and bushy sideburns standing behind him.
Takazaki samurai 1 (off-panel): My friends and I couldn’t help but overhear–
