Image description:

A six-panel, mostly black-and-white comic page.

Panel 1: Resunotek has dismantled the makeshift tent, removing the canvas from its makeshift frame. She stands beside the sticks that made the frame and folds the canvas. To the right, Ichiro crouches beside the cooking pot on its small fire surrounded by stones. Two large, shadowed trees stand in the background.

Panel 2: Resunotek puts her arms through the straps of her basket, to which the rolled canvas and the pot have been affixed. Ichiro holds out his hands to her. She wears her straw cloak, while Ichiro wears the blanket wrapped around his shoulders.

Ichiro: Let me carry that.

Resunotek: Absolutely not. You’ll tear your stitches.

Panel 3: The pair of them, walking through a forest of huge, hazy trees. Both they and the trees cast long shadows, and two sets of footprints follow them.

Panel 4: Both of them from the shoulders up. Resunotek’s face lights up as she notices something ahead. Ichiro regards her dubiously.

Resunotek: Look!

Panel 5: Alone against the snow, a mechanical centipede creeps its way across the panel. Its legs are hinged, as are the pair appendages sticking out of its back end, one of which has broken off. Its antennae are wires, insulated but for the tips. Each eye is a mechanical iris (opens and closes in a spiral). It has thirteen segments. A haze of green filaments coats it.

Resunotek (off-panel): I’ve never seen one outside of the valley before.

Panel 6: Resunotek crouches down to examine the centipede, knees drawn up to her chest and her hands atop them. She looks at it with a smile. Ichiro stands beside her, seen from about the waist down. The centipede continues on its way, leaving tiny footprints behind it.

Resunotek: I always wonder where they’re going.
