New Patreon Post/ The Well Below the Valley, Episode 9

Everyone thinks I’m just a silly little girl, and he tricked me, but that’s not true at all.

I wouldn’t have been chosen if I wasn’t worthy.

Soon, I’ll give birth to the new world.

What’s this? New content?

Our intrepid investigators start uncovering the secrets of the town of Whitmoor and the Westmont family. Warning for implied body horror and reproductive coercion.

New Patreon Post/ The Well Below the Valley, Episode 8

If I don’t stay busy, I feel like I’m drowning again.

There’s brackish water in the back of my throat. My lungs burn.

My vision goes black around the edges.

We depart London with our investigators for the rural town of Whitmoor, where strange things have had a good long time to get entrenched. This is the beginning of the second act! You can read this episode right now on Patreon for only $3 (as a per-month subscription, or to purchase just this one post).

New Patreon Post/ The Well Below the Valley, Episode 7

I wonder what horrors you saw there.

Perhaps you will think on them in the days to come.

Episode 7: The Souls of the Heathens

Hey! I remembered to post here!

I have labored long in the Patreon formatting mines to bring you this, the last episode of the first act of THE WELL BELOW THE VALLEY. Professor Ragnarsson’s murderer has been discovered, but there is so much more our investigators don’t know. Here’s a link to the post.

My Patreon is only $3 a month, and you get new episodes a week early, bonus art, and some other stuff as I think of it. Consider subscribing!

New Patreon Post: The Well Below the Valley, Episode 4

And I the unworthy Brother Bran begged the Northmen to spare us with the promise of greater riches to the north at the hollow island.

They departed with their plunder, and they will not return.

I fear I have done the unforgivable, and I pray God might have mercy on our humble souls and on the souls of the heathens.

A brand-new episode of THE WELL BELOW THE VALLEY is now available on Patreon! Our intrepid investigators meet the late professor’s next of kin and uncover one of his many secrets, decoding the document he had with him when he died.

Leather seats, a modern suspension, and we’re not being shelled. What more could you ask for?

Our intrepid investigators all pile into a Model T and drive to Oxford University in search of clues in the latest episode of The Well Below the Valley, now available on Patreon. It will also be here next week for free reading, but Patreon subscribers get early access and bonus art. I’m working on getting you some more rewards, too, as I get some of these projects off the ground (comic-themed stickers, maybe?).

I am also happy to report that Episode 4 is done, which means I have a backlog for the first time in years!

New Patreon post: some more concept art

I didn’t have time to scan/render this one, but here’s a pencil sketch of a temple built into the side of a cliff and a giant robot skeleton embedded there. As always, my Patreon is only $3 a month, and you get access to early chapters and bonus art. Plus, you get to support an independent creator and keep her cats happy.

I’m currently scripting the first issue of Chrysanthemum Dawn! It’ s happening! After that comes storyboarding/thumbnails, and then the actual drawing.

New Patreon Post/The Well Below the Valley, Episode 2

The Deep has claimed him.

Mark my words: it will soon be revealed that his death was closely tied to the sea and its foul inhabitants.

I’ve done a bit of cleanup over on Patreon, and now everything is organized into collections. Collections and individual posts can be accessed for a nominal fee ($3 or $6), or you can subscribe for $3/month. Subscribers will get early access to new episodes of The Well Below the Valley before they show up for free reading here, as well as new pages of the comic (pretty soon), and exclusive unpublished concept art and sketches. I’ll be working on some more rewards, also.

I mostly spend the money on acquiring inventory for markets, but with some upcoming collaborative projects (don’t tell anyone, but the audiobook of The Book of the New Moon Door is or will shortly be under way), it will also help me pay fellow creatives for their work.

You may notice that all the previously published episodes of The Well are gone. You also may not have noticed that, because I think one person ever opened them. This new version is better in almost all regards (pacing, editing, characterization). I still have copies of all the old annotated PDFs, and when the script is completely done, I’m looking forward to re-adding all the marginalia for the print version. In addition to the eventual audio production, I want the script book to be a bit of an art piece in itself.

Formatting is a NIGHTMARE on Patreon, but I have done it for both the first episode and this new episode to make them available for you because I love you. If you’re interested, or just want to take a look around, here’s the link again.

If you can’t spare the $3, fear not: this episode will be up here to read for free sometime next week.

New Patreon post: some concept art

You can see all of this image, unblurred, on Patreon. My Patreon is only $3 a month, and you can support an independent creator and her cats while getting some bonus art, new chapters/episodes a week before blog readers, and some other stuff that’s still in the works.
