Last Watch Before Dawn: Volume 1, Page 23

Past Me, being very dumb and kind of a jerk, decided that a top-down view would be the best way to establish the scene and the two characters in relation to one another. The version of me who had to draw this was very upset. I am comfortably two pages ahead of you right now, down from three, and I think this particular panel was why.

Anyway, we’re moving along in this chapter, which is the third of five. This one is earning us the “dark” in “dark fantasy,” so be aware of just a miserable situation including obvious addiction in the page below.

I’ve been having fewer crashes! Did I get a Windows update that actually made things better?

Here begins the third chapter (of five) of the first volume. Fair warning: last chapter was dark, this one is significantly worse. It’ll start looking up a bit after this.

New Patreon Post/ Last Watch Before Dawn Bonus Art

A digital sketch of a young man regarding the viewer with a suspicious expression from behind some branches.

As per usual, here’s a preview, and you can find the whole thing here. Bonus art is for paid subscribers ($3/month), or you can purchase each one individually for $3 each, if that’s something that interests you. If not, each of these drawings will be included in the eventual print version of the comic, and regular comic pages will resume next Tuesday.

Thanks for being here!

Last Watch Before Dawn: Volume 1, Page 20

Since last I reported in, I haven’t had any more catastrophic crashes (just normal ones, where Windows has to shut down). I’ve also had a Windows update, so maybe things will continue to improve?

This is the penultimate page of this chapter! I’m already working on the next one.

As a warning, things continue to be on fire.

Today, I was working on some bonus art for you for when this chapter is done, and Photoshop crashed, took Windows out with it, and corrupted the file so that it couldn’t be opened. I managed to restore the version of the file from yesterday, so not all was lost, but I did lose a couple hours of work.

I’m learning so many fun ways that Photoshop can fail!

Today’s page is below the cut, where things continue to be on fire (literally, instead of metaphorically like my computer):

Last Watch Before Dawn: Volume 1, Page 18

I’m still two pages ahead, and I’m hoping to get a third done this weekend.

After this, there are three more pages in this “chapter,” and then we’ll meet another protagonist!

Warning for more fire. The page is below the cut:

Last Watch Before Dawn: Volume 1, Page 17

Not to brag, but I have two more pages finished after this one. I think I can increase my lead just a little more before next week!

Warning for fire and bodies. Things are rough in here:

Last Watch Before Dawn: Volume 1, Page 16

I remain exactly one page ahead. I’ll see if I can get another one done this weekend!

Warning: fire. This will persist for the next few pages.

I am delighted to inform you that I am exactly one page ahead. I’ll be working on increasing that lead over the next couple of weeks.

Things are about to get Bad for our protagonist, so have some looming disaster below the cut:
