My husband and I are almost done with our annual Lord of the Rings rewatch, so here’s a song for you. (Fun fact: “May It Be” is also super easy to play on the piano, even if you haven’t touched a keyboard in years.)

I’ll be closing them first thing Saturday morning, so if you want an autographed copy and some bonus bookmarks & stickers, be sure to order this week. I’ll be sending the newsletter out tomorrow, which is earlier than usual, so that newsletter subscribers who don’t also read here have a chance to get a preorder. This market will be the second opportunity to preorder The Book of the New Moon Door. The third and final opportunity will be on this website in late November. More on that next month.

Must Be the Season of the Witch (October events)

Brooke and I are attending two markets next month!

The first is Bitchcraft Fair, which will take place Sunday, October 8 at the Wisconsin Center. Tickets are $12 in advance ($15 for the VIP skip-the-line experience) and $15 the day of–more here. In addition to shopping, this market offers trick-or-treating, a photobooth for your Halloween costumes (one picture is included!), and magical workshops! Doors open at noon and close at six.

The second is What the Hex Witches’ Market (Autumn Edition) on Sunday, October 22 at Dresden Castle on Underwood. Admission is free, and the workshops are magical and very affordable. There will also be live music and drag performers! Similarly, doors open at noon and close at six.

Brooke has a ton of new cards, and I’ll be opening preorders for The Book of the New Moon Door (more info on that here). We hope to see you at one or both markets!

August is going to be the month of rewriting The Book of the New Moon Door, so I’ll be getting ready for that today and starting this week. New Moon Door may take all of my waking hours this month, but I’m planning to stay on top of the alternating posting schedule. I’ll let you know if that changes.

I have finished the Great Reread of The Book of the New Moon Door! I’ll be spending this week taking notes, filling plot holes, and otherwise preparing for the Great Rewrite, which I hope to complete over the month of August.
