The What the Hex Autumn Witches’ Market is this Sunday! Brooke and I will be at Dresden Castle in Cudahy, WI, and doors open at noon. Admission is free! Here’s a link to the Facebook event for more details.

This market will be the second opportunity to preorder The Book of the New Moon Door. The third and final opportunity will be on this website in late November. More on that next month.

Must Be the Season of the Witch (October events)

Brooke and I are attending two markets next month!

The first is Bitchcraft Fair, which will take place Sunday, October 8 at the Wisconsin Center. Tickets are $12 in advance ($15 for the VIP skip-the-line experience) and $15 the day of–more here. In addition to shopping, this market offers trick-or-treating, a photobooth for your Halloween costumes (one picture is included!), and magical workshops! Doors open at noon and close at six.

The second is What the Hex Witches’ Market (Autumn Edition) on Sunday, October 22 at Dresden Castle on Underwood. Admission is free, and the workshops are magical and very affordable. There will also be live music and drag performers! Similarly, doors open at noon and close at six.

Brooke has a ton of new cards, and I’ll be opening preorders for The Book of the New Moon Door (more info on that here). We hope to see you at one or both markets!

Good morning!

August is going to be the month of rewriting The Book of the New Moon Door, so I’ll be getting ready for that today and starting this week. In the meantime, there will be a new chapter on Patreon for your reading enjoyment tomorrow, and the latest chapter of Journey to the Water will be up here on Wednesday. New Moon Door may take all of my waking hours this month, but I’m planning to stay on top of the alternating posting schedule. I’ll let you know if that changes.

I have finished the Great Reread of The Book of the New Moon Door! I’ll be spending this week taking notes, filling plot holes, and otherwise preparing for the Great Rewrite, which I hope to complete over the month of August.

In the meantime, there will be a new chapter of Journey to the Water on Patreon sometime on Tuesday, and the latest chapter of New Moon Door will be up here on Wednesday. So, What the Hex Summer Witches’ Market was a delight, but something terrible has happened:

A miniature legal pad, wrinkled with water damage. The words "newsletter signup" are barely legible in pink, with blurred bands of pink and blue ink beneath them.

I’m banging out the end of The Book of the New Moon Door this week! I’ll also have a new chapter of Journey to the Water on Patreon tomorrow, and the latest chapter of New Moon Door will appear here on Wednesday.

It’s getting toward the end of the month, so I have to plug my newsletter–don’t forget to sign up if you haven’t already! I send it only once a month, and it has writing and publishing updates as well as pictures of my garden and my cats. There won’t be a new episode of The Well Below the Valley out this month/June 1st, as I’m focusing all my writing time on finishing New Moon Door and staying on top of Journey. I’ll be getting back to it soon.

Happy Monday! A bit of a throwback for this week’s song.

We’re still on the normal posting schedule for this week: a new chapter of Journey to the Water will be up on Patreon tomorrow, and the latest chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door (chapter one of Part Three!) will be available to read here on Wednesday.

Because I’m spending all my time working to finish New Moon Door, there won’t be a new episode of The Well Below the Valley on May 1st. The Well is the project with the fewest readers, so it’s the proverbial plate I’m letting drop. I might be able to get one out June 1st, but that will depend on how quickly I finish New Moon Door.

Also, if you haven’t already, sign up for my newsletter! It goes out once a month and contains pictures of my cats and my garden. The link will take you to a box where you can enter your email address, and then you’ll be sent a confirmation email.
