Song of the Week

KALEO, “Vor í Vaglaskógi”

Happy Monday!

Midwinter Gaming Convention went really well! I didn’t get as many players as I would have liked, but I did learn a lot about game-mastering. I’m going to be making some edits to Chapters One & Two of The Well Below the Valley before I put them back up on Wednesday, so I’ll keep you posted on that.

Now that the convention is over, I’ll be back on my usual schedule of posting chapters of The Well Below the Valley and Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea on alternating Wednesdays. Barring any unexpected catastrophes, this should continue until one or both of them are complete.

Please enjoy this song, and have an excellent week!

Song of the Week

Hozier, “In the Woods Somewhere”

Happy first Monday of 2020! Please enjoy this song.

Midwinter Gaming Convention is in FOUR DAYS. If you’ll be in Milwaukee, I’m hosting The Well Below the Valley on Thursday and Saturday evening, 5:30-9:30. Tickets for the games are free, but you’ll need a con badge. If you’ve never played Call of Cthulhu before, no worries! I’ll have premade characters and a quick & easy intro to the rules ready. All you need to do is show up and be ready to solve a mystery.

Here is the event page for Part One (Thursday).

Here is the event page for Part Two (Saturday).

Here is where you can get convention badges.

I’m hoping to have the next chapter of Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea up on Wednesday, but I may be too swamped with game prep. All the hidden material for The Well Below the Valley will be up next week, and we’ll return to our regular schedule of alternating posts until all chapters are available.

I hope everyone has an excellent week.

Year in review, part the first

Happy Monday for the last time in 2019! Instead of a new Song of the Week for you, I’ve made a playlist on YouTube of all the songs I used this year:

Tomorrow, I’ll have some sort of yearly recap; I’m not sure if I will continue doing this every year (I may forget by the time 2021 rolls around), but I’m trying it out. I’ll also be starting the new year with the next chapter of Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea on Wednesday.

See you soon!

Song of the Week

Joni Mitchell, “River”

Good morning and happy holidays to all!

My schedule is a little off this week. I’ll have the next chapter of Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea up Thursday instead of Wednesday, so I’ll see you then!

Song of the Week

Heather Dale, “Joan”

Happy Monday!

It is less than a month until Midwinter Gaming Con, and I am busy preparing to GM Call of Cthulhu! If you’re interested in playing with me, there’s more information here.

There will be another chapter of Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea up here on Wednesday, so I’ll see you then. Have a good week!

Song of the Week

Hozier, “Movement”

Happy Monday!

I’ll be busy this week preparing for Midwinter Gaming Convention and getting some more chapters of Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea ready for you. The next chapter will be up Wednesday. The Well Below the Valley is on hold until after the convention. If you’re interested in playing Call of Cthulhu with me, there’s more information and links here. I’m so excited and nervous to run this module again!

Have an excellent week!

Song of the Week

Garbage, “As Heaven is Wide”

Happy Monday! It’s now December. This year has both been extremely long and flown by.

Last week, against all odds, I finished NaNo! I also received some Very Exciting News, which I promise I will actually tell everyone about soon.

In less exciting news, my sweet cat Odin was very sick last week. He seems to be back to his old self, but it was very scary there for a couple of days and he had to have a lot of tests done. If you have a few extra dollars and want to help me cover his vet costs, you can donate to my Ko-Fi, but please don’t feel obligated.

A black and white cat sleeps on a jeans-clad leg with his paws folded under his head.
He is a good boy with a very good face

I hope everyone has an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Phoebe Bridgers, “Motion Sickness”

Happy Monday! It’s the last week of NaNo! One of the first books I ever read, when I was learning to read, was The Little Engine That Could. I feel a bit like the train in that book: “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!” It’s amazing I still remember that mantra after so many years, and don’t remember stuff like…algebra.

I’ll be finishing up Chapter Two of The Well Below the Valley here on Wednesday. I hope you enjoy it; my players certainly did! They were thoroughly spooked and missed almost all the side plots in Chapter Three, they were so determined to stop the cult.

Some bad news in the Twitch department: my internet connection here isn’t strong enough to be able to stream live. It can more or less upload footage, but can’t do it in real time, which means that I won’t be able to interact with anyone in the chat. Streaming is going to be on hold until I can figure out how to fix it.

I hope everyone has an excellent week!

Song of the Week

Ishtar, “Lamouni (Ligharou meni)”

Happy Monday!

I hope to return to our regularly scheduled nonsense this week, which means the next chapter of Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea will be up Wednesday, and I’ll be on Twitch Thursday night.

I’m trying to stay on top of NaNo, so maybe my Friday update will be a positive one. We’ve passed the halfway point, so the pressure is on!

Have an excellent week!

Song of the Week

The Brothers Bright, “Blood on My Name”

Happy Monday, quite late. Moving has scrambled my schedule.

I probably won’t be streaming this week, as I have a lot of NaNo to catch up on, but the next part of Chapter Two of The Well Below the Valley will be up Wednesday. The investigators will start to learn about what they’re up against and how they’re eventually going to try to stop the cult. See you then!
