I would definitely prefer to have a backlog of pages, just to prevent service interruptions for you, but the one nice thing is that once I finish next Tuesday/Friday’s page, I’m done and can relax for a bit.
The mailer service I use for the newsletter appears to be back up, so I will get working on that soon.
I’m trying a new thing where I put the thumbnail I make for Instagram here before the cut:

In the meantime, here’s this next page. It’s got blood and violence, much more than the previous page, so be aware as you click below:

Both free and paid members can also find this page on Patreon.

A six-panel, black-and-white (and red) comic page.
Panel 1: One of the Satake samurai slashes one of the clan samurai across the belly with his sword in one hand. Judging by the scar on the victim’s face, he was the man sitting on the other side of Ichiro’s father at the meeting earlier. The sword draws a huge arc of splattered blood across the panel.
Panel 2: Ichiro’s father withstands an attack from another Satake samurai. Their two-handed swords clash, with a burst of action lines around the place where the blades meet. The Satake samurai uses his height and greater strength to push Tarahito down.
Panel 3: A stretch of the battlefield, with drifts of bloodstained snow disturbed by deep footprints. Three arrows protrude from the ground, one of which is broken, its black fletching dangling. The footprint on the far right of the panel indicates that whoever left it slid down the snowbank.
Panel 4: The same view as above, but Tarahito has fallen into the panel on the right. His eyes are open and blank; he’s dead. Blood trickles from his mouth.
Panel 5: Ichiro, his face still bleeding and his clothing spattered in blood, looks down in mute horror. Action lines surround him.
Panel 6: His horror turns to surprise as someone approaches him from behind and seizes him by the collar. We can see half a snarling face and part of the Satake samurai’s breastplate and arm. The background is now black, with a horizontal white line and a small burst to visually indicate shock.
