Thirty pages!!! I’m about a third of the way done with this draft!
Also, I filed my taxes today. I am a paragon of executive function.

A five-panel, black-and-white comic page.
Panel 1: Inset in the top left. Ichiro, carrying his bow, sword, and quiver, stands alone in the trampled snow outside the jito’s house. His expression is flat.
Panel 2: The clan samurai march through the woods in the fog, shown as silhouettes. Trees are in the foreground, with Ichiro (distinguished by his equipment) and his father (distinguished by his bent posture) behind them. Farther back, two deer riders and three other samurai on foot can be seen, as well as another line of trees in the background.
Panel 3: Inset at the bottom right of the previous panel. The Satake estate, in shadow at the top of a hill, surrounded by bare trees. The main building looks rather like the jito’s house, and there are two smaller buildings with thatched roofs and shoji doors. A darkened path leads up to each door.
Panel 4: The samurai arrive at a crossroads. Snow is piled on all sides of the paths. The jito is in front, riding an antlered deer; behind him is an archer on another deer, readying a bow, and a man on foot, drawing a sword. A signpost stands in the snow behind the jito, with two characters: on top, a circle with a cross through it, and below, a hook facing left, with two parallel lines crossing it at the bottom.
Panel 5: Inset at the bottom right of the page. At the feet of one of the samurai, an arrow flies in, embedding itself into the snow. The samurai wears split socks and shin guards tied on with rope. The arrow has black fletching that protrudes outside the edge of the panel.
