Well, I’ve had so many crashes today that I haven’t finished Friday’s page, and have thus officially lost my lead. So it goes.
You’ll notice that Ichiro is carrying more stuff on this page. I forgot about his quiver before. This is what the first draft is for!
You’ll find the image below the cut:

Image Description:
An eight-panel, black-and-white comic page.
Panel 1: Ichiro and his father kneel with their hands on the ground in front of them. Tarahito’s head is bent fully, but some of Ichiro’s face is visible.
Panel 2: Ichiro looks up and to his left, looking for something from his father. His right eye is still swollen.
Panel 3: Tarahito’s face, turned away and avoiding his son.
Panel 4: The jito, still mostly in shadow, with a hand raised to dismiss the brief conflict.
Jito: Enough.
Go. Now.
Panel 5: From above, the clan samurai file out of the house onto the muddy path. Their shadows are long, pointed back toward the door. One riding deer is visible at the far left of the panel, with a similar long, tall shadow. A figure with a bow on his back makes his way toward the deer (this is Ichiro).
Samurai 1: When the Satake are gone, I’m going to build my own house. Right at the top of the hill.
Samurai 2: Is it true they’re conspiring against the daimyō?
Panel 6: Ichiro approaches the deer, holding out his hand. The deer bends its head down to him. Ichiro carries a bow and quiver on his back and a sword on his hip.
Panel 7: A closer shot of the deer’s face and Ichiro’s outstretched hand. Another gauntleted hand reaches into the panel from the left, grasping the deer’s bridle.
Panel 8: A slightly older samurai, seen from the waist up, leads the deer away, giving Ichiro (in the direction of the viewer) a look of disdain. It is difficult to determine the age of most members of this clan; they live a hard life on this wintry isle.
