Last Watch Before Dawn: Volume 1, Page 17

Not to brag, but I have two more pages finished after this one. I think I can increase my lead just a little more before next week!

Warning for fire and bodies. Things are rough in here:

Image description:

A four-panel, black-and-white comic page (though the fire is rendered in yellow and orange throughout).

Panel 1: The doorway to the temple, with fire consuming the columns on either side of the shoji door, which has almost entirely burned away. A silhouetted body, limned in flames, lies halfway in the door. The faint shapes of two others can be seen in the darkness within. On the right side, a second doorway is also consumed with fire. Smoke clouds the scene.

Panel 2: Resunotek makes her way down a carven stair, one hand against the cliff wall to her right. Her other hand covers her face, and her head is bowed. Under the stair, the empty night air is dark. Smoke and sparks blow across the panel.

Panel 3: She arrives at another doorway, and stands looking inside, facing the viewer. Fire and the remains of the shoji frame her small figure. Smoke pours over her from inside the room, and she ducks her head, covering her face with one arm.

Panel 4: Inside the room, two giant cocoons have burned and split open. The legs of the insects within, bent and scorched, reach toward the ceiling. Three human figures are also in this room, one seated between the cocoons, one lying beside the first, and another under a cocoon at the left side of the panel. Fire outlines the cocoons, the insects, the human bodies, and the edges of the room, and the space is filled with smoke and sparks.
