Song of the Week

Afro-Celt Sound System, “Release”

It’s Monday again. I hope you are safe and warm, wherever you are.

I don’t have a new chapter for you this week, but the latest chapter of Journey to the Water (which was released on Patreon last week) will be up here on Wednesday. If you haven’t read the latest chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door, you can find it here.

I’ll be giving New Moon Door chapters names to make them a little easier to navigate, so keep an eye out for that. I should also be able to announce a new, Patreon-exclusive project later this week! Regular chapters should resume next week.

Odin update:

Song of the Week

Máire (Moya) Brennan, “Cé Leis”

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween and a good weekend. We had our first trick-or-treaters at the new house, and I feel like I’ve finally achieved Real Adulthood.

You may have noticed the new Directory Post that is pinned to the top of the home page. I hope it helps you navigate around! And if you ever get lost, the tabs at the top will help you find your way.

On Wednesday, the third chapter of Journey to the Water will be available here on the blog! Patreon subscribers were able to read it last week, so if you’re interested in reading chapters early, you can subscribe for just $3 a month. There will also be a Bonus Patreon Livestream, where I’ll be playing Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines and talking about vampire lore, sometime in the next week or two. I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

I’ll also be streaming on Twitch tonight and Saturday night with the Tea and Sidequests Channel.

See you soon, and have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Fiachra, “Óró Mo Bháidín” (traditional)

Happy Monday! Please enjoy this song, which is an Irish lullaby about a boat.

In case you missed it, the new book is called Journey to the Water, and the prologue and first chapter are available under the Stories tab above. You can also follow this link to go directly to the table of contents.

I’ll be on Twitch tonight playing Valheim, starting at 6pm US Central Time. I’d love to hang out with you in chat, so if you’re on Twitch, feel free to stop by.

Also, this is your semi-regular reminder that comments on all my posts are open. You can tell me what you think of my chapters, or just talk about whatever. I’ll be sure to respond!

Thank you and have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Capercaillie, “Ailein Duinn” (traditional)

Happy Monday. Things have been a little quiet around here, and I apologize for that, but we have some exciting things happening this week.

Tonight, the Tea and Sidequests channel will return! We’re going to be playing Abzû, a little game about exploring the sunken ruins of an ancient civilization, inspired by the Enuma Elish. It was made by the same people who made Journey, and it’s really quite lovely, if you’d like to join us. We’ll be streaming from 6pm until 8pm, Central US time.

Later this week, I’ll have the first chapter of the sequel to Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea. It will have a proper title by then also. I think I’m going to have to stick to an every-other-week posting schedule for the time being, as I have a number of projects I’m working on concurrently, but I hope to eventually get to one chapter a week, possibly alternating with Part Two of The Book of the New Moon Door.

For now, though, enjoy this song, join us on Twitch tonight if you’d like, and stop by later for a new chapter!

Song of the Week

Nightwish, “The Islander”

Happy Monday!

The Official Reader Poll is now closed! Thank you to everyone who voted. I will announce the results later this week. Check back soon.

Take care and have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Loreena McKennitt, “Prologue”

Happy Monday!

The Official Reader Poll is still running! It will be open through Sunday, September 19. I will probably close it first thing next Monday morning. It’s pinned to the top of the blog home page, so it should be easy to find if you haven’t voted yet.

This week is going to be Shameless Self-Promo Week. I’ll be posting about all the material I have available, and you’re welcome to join in and tell me what you’re working on!

Have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Café Tacvba, “Futuro”

Happy Monday!

Between my day job and the work that needs to be done on the house (!!!), I haven’t had a lot of time to write. You may have noticed that streaming is on hold as well. I will do everything in my power to get a new chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door out this week, and I appreciate your patience.

Have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Emily Smith, “King Orfeo” (traditional)

Happy Monday!

This song, a retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, is one of the few surviving examples of Norn, a Scandinavian dialect that was once spoken in the Orkneys and Shetlands. The refrain goes “Scowan urla grun/ Whar giorten han grun oarlac” (“Early greens the wood/Where the hart goes yearly”). Other extant uses of Norn include names for the colors and patterns of sheep native to the region.

There will be a new chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door this week! Stop by around Thursday. If you haven’t read the latest chapter, visit the Stories tab (above, or click the link) to catch up!

I’ll also be on or around Twitch tonight and Saturday night. I’m looking forward to getting back to a regular streaming schedule.

Have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Monica Heldal, “Swan”

Good morning! It’s Monday again.

No new chapter this week, but if you missed last week’s chapter, you can find it under the Stories tab above (or just scroll down from here on the home page). Now’s a good time to catch up on The Book of the New Moon Door! Part One will be finished in the next month or so.

I’ll be on Twitch tonight and Saturday night playing some games. You can join me if you like.

Have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Amadou and Mariam, “Je Pense à Toi”

Happy Monday!

I saw snow yesterday, though it didn’t last long. I suppose it’s time.

I’ve noticed a lot of new readers! Hello! Welcome to…whatever this is. Please feel free to leave me a comment anytime, and if there’s anything I can do to improve accessibility and readability, please let me know. There are also useful links down at the bottom: my social media, a list of tags, and a link where you can subscribe via WordPress or email to get notifications whenever I post something new.

I’ll be back with a new chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door, probably on Thursday. Until then, be safe, be well, and be warm.

Have an excellent week.
