Daniel Hart, “Blome Swete Lilie Flour” (from The Green Knight)
Happy Monday!
It’s a holiday, so just a quick note. Tomorrow: The Book of the New Moon Door on Patreon; Wednesday: Journey to the Water here on the blog. Also on Wednesday, the May edition of the newsletter will go out around noon Central time, so make sure you’re signed up before then if you haven’t already!
I hope you’re enjoying your day. I appreciate you!
Hozier and Bear McCreary, “Blood Upon the Snow” (from God of War: Ragnarök)
You know, I’ve never played a God of War game, but this song makes me want to.
That’s going to have to wait, however, because I’m starting Part Three of The Book of the New Moon Door! I’ll post a NaNo update on Friday. The last chapter of Part Two will be up here on Wednesday. There will also be a new chapter of Journey to the Water on Patreon tomorrow.
Responses to the New Moon Door poll were sparse and mixed, so I think I will maintain the chapter-by-chapter posting schedule for now. I’ll reevaluate when Part Three is written (my goal is by the end of May), and maybe again when editing is done (late summer). If all the chapters haven’t been posted by then, I may save the ending for the published book 😉
Also, I’ll make a bigger announcement later, but I’ll be at the What the Hex Witches’ Market on May 6 at Falcon Bowl in Milwaukee! Mostly, I’ll be supporting Brooke and her Figuratively Speaking Tarot, but I’ll have a few copies of Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea to sell and sign and some bookmarks to hand out. Stay tuned for more details.
As always, thanks for being here, and have an excellent week.
Vivir Quintana and Mare Advertencia, “Árboles Bajo El Mar” (from Wakanda Forever)
Good morning! I’m currently playing fetch with my cat while waiting for a huge rainstorm to pass so I can do laundry (too much water overwhelms the city sewer system). I hope you are safe and warm today.
The February edition of the newsletter is going out tomorrow! You can sign up at this link (which is also at the bottom of the blog’s home page). Be sure to check your inbox for a confirmation link after that. The mailer service wants to check if you’re very sure you want to receive the newsletter.
Also tomorrow, the next chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door will be up on Patreon, and Journey to the Water will post here on Wednesday!
The next episode of The Well Below the Valley is probably going to be late (I try to get them out on the first of each month), but I should have it up by the end of the week.
I think that’s all for today. Thanks for being here, and have an excellent week!
If you missed the latest chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door, it’s available at this link (or just scroll down from here on the home page). All the chapters are available under the Stories tab above.
Things are happening this week, mostly on Patreon. Tomorrow, the next chapter of Journey to the Water goes up. That one will make its appearance here on the blog next week (Wednesday, April 6). On Wednesday of this week (March 30), the script for the first episode of The Well Below the Valley will be available for download on Patreon. This one won’t be available on the blog, so if it’s something that interests you, sign up for Patreon! I’ll talk more about it here on Wednesday.
Streaming on Twitch will resume soon, but probably not this week. I’ll let you know when I have news about that.
Thank you to everyone who sent good thoughts about Odin. He was the most loved.
In case you missed it, Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea released on Friday! It’s been three or four months of non-stop work, not to mention all the time I spent writing the thing, so I’m very excited to share it with you.
If you want to read the first chapter before making a decision, you can do so here.
The earlier, serialized version will remain up on the blog, but I highly recommend buying the book, as it’s far more polished and of better quality, in addition to being easier to read in your preferred medium.
Other stuff happening this week:
There will be a new chapter of Journey to the Water up on Patreon! My Patreon is only $3 a month, and it gives you access to serial chapters a week early, plus Patreon livestreams and an exclusive project or two that I will be announcing in the next couple of weeks.
I will also be doing a minor blog remodel, so you may see some things move around. My goal is accessibility and readability, so if there’s anything I can do to make your blog experience easier, please let me know! Comments are open on almost every post.
This week, the first week of 2022, I’ll have the new chapter of Journey to the Water up on Patreon tomorrow, and here on the blog on Friday. I should have an update on Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea‘s progress by the end of the week.
I’ll also be on Twitch tonight! My husband/streaming partner wants to play Jedi: Fallen Order this evening.
If you’re interested, I’m trying to stay engaged with social media by doing a one-card tarot reading every day on Instagram.
I think that’s it for today. I’ll be back soon with more updates.
Howard Shore/J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Passing of the Elves”
Happy Monday! I hope the sun is shining on you today.
Now would be a good time for a general reminder that a new President does not mean all–or any–of our problems are solved. Hereis a form to contact the White House and send a strongly-worded message, perhaps about student loan relief, COVID relief, immigration reform, or the recent bombing in Syria.
No new chapter this week, so now’s a good time to get caught up! All the available chapters are under the Stories tab above.
I’ll be on Twitch tonight and Saturday night, 6-8pm Central time.
I will see you again soon. Have an excellent week.
I’ll be back on Wednesday with another chapter of Singer Lake. I think it will end up being three short chapters in total, and then I’m going to start a new multi-chapter story. See you soon!
“Everything Stays,” from the Adventure Time soundtrack
Good morning and happy Monday!
This week, I’ll have the rest of Chapter One of The Well Below the Valley up on Wednesday. You’ll get the solution to the puzzle in the first half, as well as another puzzle that leads to Chapter Two.
