Song of the Week

Poets of the Fall, “Carnival of Rust”

Welcome back!

This week, I’ll have Chapter IV of Journey to the Water up here on the blog on Wednesday, and another update on NaNo progress and how close Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea is to being a Real Book later in the week.

I had a great time talking about vampires with my friend Logan on the Patreon livestream this weekend. I’ll be doing one a month, with different topics and guests.

May your burdens be light this week.

The Decemberists, “The Crane Wife 3”

Welcome back! It’s Monday again.

This week, I’ll have the next chapter of Journey to the Water up on Patreon. I’m also doing my first Patreon livestream on Saturday, November 13! I’ll be talking about vampire lore from around the real world and the World of Darkness RPG system with a good friend who is a World of Darkness expert. If you want to get in on either of those things, my Patreon is only $3 a month.

I am still committed to keeping blog content free, so Journey to the Water chapter IV will be up here on the website next week.

I’m also participating in National Novel Writing Month this year, and it’s…going. I’m working on a new, improved draft of Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea so that it can become a Real Book that you can hold in your hands or on your e-reader, hopefully before Christmas. I’ll post an update later this week!

As always, thanks for being here, and have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Máire (Moya) Brennan, “Cé Leis”

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween and a good weekend. We had our first trick-or-treaters at the new house, and I feel like I’ve finally achieved Real Adulthood.

You may have noticed the new Directory Post that is pinned to the top of the home page. I hope it helps you navigate around! And if you ever get lost, the tabs at the top will help you find your way.

On Wednesday, the third chapter of Journey to the Water will be available here on the blog! Patreon subscribers were able to read it last week, so if you’re interested in reading chapters early, you can subscribe for just $3 a month. There will also be a Bonus Patreon Livestream, where I’ll be playing Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines and talking about vampire lore, sometime in the next week or two. I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

I’ll also be streaming on Twitch tonight and Saturday night with the Tea and Sidequests Channel.

See you soon, and have an excellent week.

Queens of the Stone Age, “Someone’s In the Wolf”

Last October song, so it’s another spooky one.

Continuing the spooky theme, tonight I’ll be streaming Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines with the Tea and Sidequests channel on Twitch. You can come hang out and chat and talk about World of Darkness lore with me!

In case you missed it, I now have a Patreon. There is currently only one subscription tier, for $3 a month. If you subscribe, you’ll get the next chapter of Journey to the Water on Wednesday, a whole week early. Otherwise, you’ll see it here next week. There are other reasons to subscribe, like supporting an independent creator, bonus content other than new chapters, and Patreon livestreams and a community board. As I create more benefits, I’ll be sure to let you know about them, and maybe I can persuade you to subscribe 🙂

Have an excellent week!

Rafferty, “Mausoleum”

Maybe I should do a bunch of spooky songs for the remainder of October?

Hello, happy Monday, I’m glad you’re here.

There will be a new chapter of Journey to the Water this week! It will be here Wednesday if I can manage it, or Thursday if I can’t.

I’ll also be streaming on Twitch this evening, playing Moon Hunters.

See you soon! Have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Fiachra, “Óró Mo Bháidín” (traditional)

Happy Monday! Please enjoy this song, which is an Irish lullaby about a boat.

In case you missed it, the new book is called Journey to the Water, and the prologue and first chapter are available under the Stories tab above. You can also follow this link to go directly to the table of contents.

I’ll be on Twitch tonight playing Valheim, starting at 6pm US Central Time. I’d love to hang out with you in chat, so if you’re on Twitch, feel free to stop by.

Also, this is your semi-regular reminder that comments on all my posts are open. You can tell me what you think of my chapters, or just talk about whatever. I’ll be sure to respond!

Thank you and have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Capercaillie, “Ailein Duinn” (traditional)

Happy Monday. Things have been a little quiet around here, and I apologize for that, but we have some exciting things happening this week.

Tonight, the Tea and Sidequests channel will return! We’re going to be playing Abzû, a little game about exploring the sunken ruins of an ancient civilization, inspired by the Enuma Elish. It was made by the same people who made Journey, and it’s really quite lovely, if you’d like to join us. We’ll be streaming from 6pm until 8pm, Central US time.

Later this week, I’ll have the first chapter of the sequel to Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea. It will have a proper title by then also. I think I’m going to have to stick to an every-other-week posting schedule for the time being, as I have a number of projects I’m working on concurrently, but I hope to eventually get to one chapter a week, possibly alternating with Part Two of The Book of the New Moon Door.

For now, though, enjoy this song, join us on Twitch tonight if you’d like, and stop by later for a new chapter!

Song of the Week

Alan Stivell, “Brian Boru”

Happy Monday!

In case you missed it, the poll results are in, and you can find out about them and read a preview of my next project here. I should be back with more news later this week.

As always, thanks for reading, and have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Nightwish, “The Islander”

Happy Monday!

The Official Reader Poll is now closed! Thank you to everyone who voted. I will announce the results later this week. Check back soon.

Take care and have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Loreena McKennitt, “Prologue”

Happy Monday!

The Official Reader Poll is still running! It will be open through Sunday, September 19. I will probably close it first thing next Monday morning. It’s pinned to the top of the blog home page, so it should be easy to find if you haven’t voted yet.

This week is going to be Shameless Self-Promo Week. I’ll be posting about all the material I have available, and you’re welcome to join in and tell me what you’re working on!

Have an excellent week.
