It is February 13, 1922. Three days ago, Oxford professor of archaeology Emundr Ragnarsson was found dead in a London hotel room. At first, it was assumed that his death was a natural one, but there are too many questions surrounding it. Who has been following the professor around Oxford? What happened on his last field expedition, that was cut short and declared a failure? What does his work have to do with a mysterious blight affecting plants around the country? Welcome!

My name is Madeline and I write fantasy.

I’ve been hooked on the genre since I was a very small child, when my dad read The Hobbit to my sister and me as a bedtime story. I grew up reading voraciously, got two English degrees (one with an emphasis in medieval literature and the other with a focus on education), married a history teacher, and finally, after many false starts, started to seriously write.

I’m working on my first book, but in the meantime, I have some things that will be published here for you to read. I’m starting off with two projects: a module for the Call of Cthulhu role-playing game system and a Conan the Barbarian-style serial novella. The intro to the module and the first chapter of the story will be posted shortly, and then released chapter by chapter in the coming weeks.

When I’m not reading and/or writing, I have been known to bike, knit and crochet, watch terrible movies, and play video games. I am also an avid player of tabletop role-playing games, including Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Genesys, Edge of the Empire, Call of Cthulhu, and World of Darkness.

I’m happy to have you here reading, and hope you stick around!
