Good morning!

I’m neck-deep in The Book of the New Moon Door and enjoying the one day I can keep the windows open before the heat hits again. When my cats can’t watch the birds and insects flying around, preferably from right up against the screen, they get antsy. Winter is a hard season for them.

While I work on rewrites, you’ll have a new chapter of New Moon Door on Patreon tomorrow, and last week’s Patreon chapter will be up here to read for free on Wednesday. I have finished the Great Reread of The Book of the New Moon Door! I’ll be spending this week taking notes, filling plot holes, and otherwise preparing for the Great Rewrite, which I hope to complete over the month of August.

In the meantime, there will be a new chapter of Journey to the Water on Patreon sometime on Tuesday, and the latest chapter of New Moon Door will be up here on Wednesday. I’m finally back on my regular posting schedule. There will be a new chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door on Patreon tomorrow, if you’ve got some downtime during the holiday, and the latest chapter of Journey to the Water will be here on Wednesday.

I am happy to announce that I achieved my Camp NaNoWriMo goal of 30,000 words for the month of April.

I am about halfway done with Part Three of The Book of the New Moon Door! I’m setting another 30,000 word goal for May, to finish the draft.

On the subject of New Moon Door, the next chapter will post to Patreon tomorrow. I’ll have the latest chapter of Journey to the Water up here on Wednesday. Because I’m spending all my writing time on New Moon Door, there won’t be a new episode of The Well Below the Valley this month, but I hope to pick it up again soon.

Hello again! It’s Monday. Autumn has arrived early here, bringing a full day of rain and some minor flooding. While I wait for my towels to dry so I can sop up more water in my basement, how about an update for the week?

First things first: I have a new chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door that will be up on Patreon tomorrow, and the latest chapter of Journey to the Water will be here on the blog on Wednesday. Both projects will continue until they are done!

However, if you’re looking for something new and exciting, I have good news! My friend Brooke has recently published her first tarot deck, and we’re working on a collaborative book-and-deck project. I am excited to announce that both the (first?) book and the deck will be called The Tarot of the Gates. For more details and some worldbuilding, you can read last week’s post here. The first chapter will release October 1!

Also, in case you missed it, we’re going to be at booth 116 at Bitchcraft Fair Milwaukee! It will be at the Wisconsin Center on Sunday, October 2. I hope to see you there! It’s my first event, and I am both excited and scared, as you can tell by all the exclamation points.

Hello! I hope you’re doing well this Monday morning.

This will be a pretty normal week around here: new chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door up on Patreon tomorrow, and the latest chapter of Journey to the Water will be up on the blog Wednesday.

I do have two news items, though! First, I’m starting Twitch streaming again with the Tea and Sidequests channel. The plan is for me to stream Fridays and talk about some aspect of fantasy writing. This week, I’ll be playing Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and discussing fight scenes. On Saturdays, my husband/streaming partner will be doing exercise challenges.

Second, we have a new kitten! Her name is Shepard and she is four months old. She’s already helping me work (when she isn’t walking across my keyboard).

She is very wiggly and never stops purring.

Solaire isn’t sure how to feel about her, but I think with time and patience they will become friends.
