Song of the Week

Anais Mitchell and Jefferson Hamer, “Tam Lin” (Child Ballad 39)

Good morning! Today’s my birthday. I hope you’re having a good day.

I met so many cool people at the Fall Fon du Lac Spirit Fair! I get a small break this week, and then it’s off to the Scorpio Market in Madison on November 9th. Then I think I’m done for the rest of the year.

If you backed the Figuratively Speaking Mermaid Tarot Kickstarter, I am happy to report that the decks have been ordered. I’ll let you know as soon as I get any updates.

The newsletter will come out on Thursday the 31st, so if that’s something you’re interested in, put your email address in the box at this link. Then be sure to check your inbox for a confirmation.

I appreciate your patience as I work to finish Journey to the Water. I’ll be back on Friday with an update for you.

Petitions I’ve collected this week:

Via No Business With Genocide: Pressure Congress to help end the civil war in Sudan

Via USCPR: Block $20 billion in weapons to Israel

Via Action Network: Protect journalists & press in Gaza

That’s it for today. As always, I appreciate you. Have an excellent week.

Song of the Week

Red Tail Ring, “Hangman”

Happy Monday! There are many weathers happening in the world, both literal and metaphorical. I hope you are safe, wherever you are.

This week, the final chapter of the first part of The Book of the New Moon Door will be released! I’m very excited. Check back here soon. If you need to catch up, all the previous chapters are available under the Stories tab above.

Once that’s done, I’m going to be gauging interest to see what project I should start releasing next. There will be a poll here on the blog, provided I can get the widget to work. Please keep an eye out for it, because I need as many responses as possible!

Thank you and have an excellent week!

ETA: As of August 30, this blog is two years old!

Song of the Week

Alela Diane and Alina Hardin, “Matty Groves” (traditional)

Happy Monday!

Not much to report this week. You can read the latest chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door here.

The Tea and Sidequests channel will be live on Twitch tonight and Saturday night.

Have an excellent week.

Song of the Week: Double Feature

Kate Rusby, “Annan Waters”

The Decemberists, “Annan Water”

Happy Monday! Please enjoy these two versions of this Border ballad, one traditional and one less so. Fun fact: I named the first chapter of my undergraduate thesis “The Hazards of Love.” Medieval courtly love can be very hazardous, especially with all those eye-beams flying around.

I’ll be back later this week (hopefully Wednesday) with the next chapter of The Book of the New Moon Door. Berend and Isabel will have to locate and deal with a crime lord in order to find the murderer, so don’t miss it!

May you stay safe and warm this week and this season.
