Good morning!

This week, I’m working on Episode 4 of The Well Below the Valley, as well as the script for the first issue of Chrysanthemum Dawn. Episode 3 of The Well will be up on Patreon on Wednesday! It’ll be here for free reading next week.

I am still a ways off from posting any of the comic. After scripting comes storyboards/thumbnails, and then the actual drawing, plus lettering and other formatting worries. I am both blessed and cursed to live in a time where I can do most, if not all, of this myself, rather than relying on a small army of artists. In any case, I’m very excited to be making this idea a real thing, and I hope to have more things to show you soon.

Good morning!

First things first: Journey to the Water comes out in eleven days! You can check out the cover, back-of-the-book blurb, and first chapter under the “Buy my books” tab above (under the Menu if you’re on mobile). After I’m done writing this, I’ll make sure the sidebar is updated as well.

I’ll mostly be counting down to release day until it happens (December 20), but afterward, I’ll be talking about new projects and things going on with me. This will also include why this book took so very long. In the meantime, please get hyped with me for the release!

On Saturday, I’ll be at the Scorpio Market in Madison! The market runs from 12-4 and will take place at the Masonic Center downtown. Here’s some more information. It is a fully masked event!

In the meantime, I’ll be working on Journey to the Water. I’m trying to get through the election tomorrow (I’m working a full shift at a polling place), but after that I should be able to finish the rewrites and have a release date for you all.

On that note, DON’T FORGET TO VOTE. Don’t give up what little agency you have over your government. If you’re in Wisconsin, myvote.wi.gov has all the information you need in regards to checking your registration and finding your polling place. Wisconsin, among some other states, lets you register the same day at your polling place. If you’re elsewhere in the States (and its territories), here’s information on how, when, and where to vote and checking your registration.

First things first: I’ll be at What the Hex: Vampire this Sunday at Dresden Castle on Underwood (Cudahy, WI). Admission is free, and doors open at 11 AM! There will be workshops, a drag performance, and a whole collection of magical artists, makers, and craftspeople. I’m continuing to work on The Book of the New Moon Door. I’ll be back at the end of this week with an update on an estimated release date. The short version: this is a big book (not Wheel of Time doorstopper big, but about twice as long as Beyond the Frost-Cold Sea), and an October release date is probably out of reach, but I plan to prepare some extremely fancy signed preorders for my two events in October.

In the meantime, I’ll have a new chapter on Patreon tomorrow and last week’s chapter here for free reading on Wednesday. I hope you’re enjoying the serial version, and I hope you’ll enjoy the published version more.

August is going to be the month of rewriting The Book of the New Moon Door, so I’ll be getting ready for that today and starting this week. New Moon Door may take all of my waking hours this month, but I’m planning to stay on top of the alternating posting schedule. I’ll let you know if that changes.
